The Brit Insurance is for Novices who are just below Ladbroke World Hurdle standard. It is run over the three mile Cheltenham course. Previously run at Sandown the new venue has ensured an excellent field and can highlight potential long distance chasers for the future.
In the recent runnings of the race since it was introduced to the Cheltenham Festival a few years ago Jonjo O'Neill has won it twice with two top staying novice hurdlers. Establishing the form for 3 mile hurdle races is a lot easier than 2 mile races as there is a lot less form to work through and as such find a winner of this race should not be to difficult as is emphasized by the fact that in the four runnings of this race so far no winner has returned in double figures.
The Odds for the Albert Bartlett Hurdle tend to be establish well in advance of the festival as the form is very evident midway through the season.
